Butta On...Takin' It Back Thursday: Be Alone Tonight by The Rays
A few weeks ago I began the arduous task of uploading the bulk of my over 1000 CD's onto my computer in preparation for the iPod that I plan to get this Christmas. (Yeah, I know I'm late to the iPod party, but I was holding out for more gigabytes. Yup. Mmm hmm.) So the other day I grabbed a stack of soundtracks to upload and right now I have everything from Fame to Flashdance to Boyz 'N the Hood to Brown Sugar sitting next to my PC. I was in a soundtrack kinda mood thanks to this, and one CD in particular took me to another time and place, y'all. And believe it or not it was the soundtrack to School Daze.
Oh how I love this movie and its accompanying soundtrack. It's not that this Spike Lee joint was some great piece of cinema, but it was one of those movies that I saw as a teenager that just stuck with me that I will still watch to this day. (Matter of fact I need to schedule a viewing.) One of my favorite musical numbers from the film is when Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guyand two other singer/actresses performing "Be Alone Tonight" as The Rays. This. Is. My. Jam.
So without further delay, let me see if I still remember the routine...
And I've been meaning to upload all of my CDs to my computer for the longest. I guess since it's cold out I can make some time. I don't think it's quite 1100 but maybe half. ;*)Good luck with that. lol
Boyz 'N da Hood was one of the first two CDs I ever bought (Boyz II Men - Cooleyhighharmony was the other)...and OMG, this song was my jam for the tune and the eye candy :D
