Butta On...In Case You Were Wondering, It's STILL All About Eric Roberson

I'm only a month late with this post, but y'all already know how I roll. However, regardless of my CPT issues, I just HAD to share my latest Eric Roberson concert experience with mi blog familia. Because this, you see, wasn't any old ordinary concert. No, friends, this was the Washington, DC CD Release Extravanga for Eric Roberson's latest (and dare I say greatest) CD entitled Left at the 930 Club on February 15th.

A blizzard may have hit the city the day before, but Erro fans braved the elements to come out and see the man perform his first concert in DC for 2007. Temperatures were low but anticipation was high. Left had just hit the streets the day before on Valentine's Day, but fans had already been given a few tasty treats from the new set on his MySpace page.

Algebra was the opening act and girlfriend was fantastic. I wasn't that familiar with her music nor had I seen her perform live before, but I was pleasantly surprised by her set. Her outfit was a little out there but her singing outshined the ecelctic ensemble. She had great stage presence and even broke out with the guitar at one point. Don't sleep on this sista like I did. She definitely got next.

After Algebra's brief set, it was time for Eric to come on and do his thang. And do it he did. I won't even bog the blog down with a blow-by-blow concert review, but I'll let the visuals speak for themselves. Cause you know I got my guerilla videos going once again, right? (God i love my new camera!)

Erro opened up the show with "Music", the first song off of Left.

Then he eased right into the house version of "Change For Me". My jam!

Now this here was my favorite moment of the concert. Erro is notorious for his freestyle songs and he asked the audience to supply him with a few words. Well, I screamed out FRECKLES! (wonder why?) and other audience members yelled out Black history month, collard greens, and group sex. Check out the little ditty that Erro created on the spot. Pure. Genius.

This was the last song of the night before the encore. Erro and the band broke out into a rocked out version of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Check out Curt Chambers on guitar. Dude was killing it.

What can I say? Erro did it yet again, y'all. The man just has IT.

Trust me when I say that Erro is not to be missed in concert. He is currently making his way around the country (and England, too) on tour and if he comes to your city you'll be mad at yourself that you missed him. His next stop is Philly Saturday night, and since it's the weekend your girl Butta will be making the sojourn with my peoples. Erro is surely worth the trip.

I love Erro. I saw him live last year in DC and he was phenomenal. The bf picked up the new joint for me. I cannot wait to hear it.

BTW, you heard "So Sad" and the joint with J Rawls?
